The Spotlight Series

A series in which our physical therapists interview physicians who practise in our community. Every guest is an outside doctor, not a member of the Greiner Physical Therapy staff.

Our therapists, interviewing the doctors in our community.

The Spotlight Series is a set of recorded conversations. A physical therapist from our team sits down with a physician who practises here in the Hamptons and on Long Island, and they work through one clinical subject slowly enough that a patient can follow it.

To be completely clear about who is who: every physician in this series is an outside guest. None of them work for Greiner Physical Therapy, none of them treat patients at our clinics, and nothing here should be read as us offering their procedures. They are specialists in the community, several of them people we work alongside as referral partners, and the series exists to show you who is out there and what they actually do.

The interviewers are ours. Dr. Peter Imperato, a senior physical therapist on our team, hosts the foot and ankle conversation, and Seth Greiner, PT, MSPT, hosts the Parkinson’s conversation. You can meet the whole team on our team page.

Why we record these at all.

Three kinds of people get the most out of these interviews.

Patients with an unanswered question

If you have been told what you have but not what is causing it, these conversations are the long version of the answer.

Families and caregivers

Especially the Parkinson’s episode. Caregivers usually do the research, and they deserve better than a forum thread.

Other local clinicians

Physicians, therapists and trainers who want to know how the specialist down the road thinks before they send someone there.

What this series is not.

It is not an endorsement page, a referral directory, or a list of doctors we employ. We do not receive anything for hosting these interviews, and we do not speak for the physicians in them. Their credentials and their practices are their own.

It also is not medical advice for your specific case. If something in one of these episodes sounds like your problem, the useful next step is an evaluation. In New York you can see a licensed physical therapist without a doctor’s referral for up to 30 days or 10 visits, whichever comes first, and we can tell you quickly whether you need a physician in the room too.

Book Your One-on-One Evaluation

Watching an interview is a good way to understand a problem. Getting hands on it is how it changes. Every session here is you and a licensed physical therapist, start to finish.

No referral is needed in New York for up to 30 days or 10 visits. We are in network with Medicare and Medicare Advantage, out of network with most other plans, and we submit claims on your behalf.
