Osteo Blast: Build Bone Strength and Confidence
A 50-minute circuit program using free weights, body weight and balance exercises to build bone strength, power and confidence, and to lower your risk of a fall-related fracture.
Bone responds to load. That is the whole idea.
Osteo Blast is built to build bone strength, confidence and power. It is a 50-minute circuit program using free weights, body weight and balance exercises, and it exists because bone is living tissue that adapts to the demands you place on it.
The purpose is plain: prevent fall-related fractures and improve bone health. That means two jobs in one class. Load the skeleton hard enough to matter, and train the balance and reactions that keep you off the floor in the first place.
The programming follows the strength evidence, which is that progressive loading stimulates osteoblast activity and supports bone density over time. If a scan has already put a number on your bone density, read our page on osteoporosis too, and consider starting one-on-one before you join a group.
Who tends to be in this room.
This class is aimed at people whose priority is bone health and staying on their feet.
Bone density on your mind
A scan, a family history, or a doctor’s comment has put bone health on your list.
Worried about a fall
You want the strength and the balance that keep a stumble from becoming a fracture.
Still want to lift
You have no interest in being handled gently. You want to be loaded properly and coached.
Finished physical therapy
You have completed a course of care and want somewhere to keep the gains.
Why this class is not just a strength class.
Bone health as the target
Progressive loading aimed squarely at bone strength, not just at how you look.
Balance in the same hour
Fall prevention is trained alongside the lifting, because fractures happen on the way down.
Confidence that transfers
Confidence is the quiet outcome. Stairs, curbs and icy walkways stop running your calendar.
Class times change through the season.
Osteo Blast runs on a schedule that shifts through the season, so we do not publish times here that would be wrong by the time you read them. Call us at (631) 596-5096 for the current schedule.
You can also send a note through the contact page and we will tell you when the next class runs, what to bring, and which package makes sense for how often you plan to come. Class packages are listed on the shop page, and the first class is free.
